The Thunderbird

The Thunderbird

This building presented the design team with a particular problem. Not typically the type of historic building we are attracted to it was a very cheap price and also well located within the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of Cincinnati called East Walnut Hills. Faced with a nondescript 60’s era salt box with 16 small apartments, something had to be done to make the building special in some way. The design settled upon for Thunderbird was meant to evoke 50’s era popular culture with atomic age decorations, fixtures and paint schemes. In addition, common area upgrades, exterior waterproofing and complete interior remodeling made this project an outstanding success and contribution to the ongoing revitalization of the neighborhood.

•Free off-street parking (directly across from the building entrance)
•personal storage compartments for each apt
•brand new AC units
•kitchen appliances and modern bathrooms
•Coin laundry easily accessable on the lower level
•Bus stop on the corner on corner with direct downtown connection.
•Newly revitalized storefronts, charming shops, eateries, Cafe Desales, Manifest Gallery and much more right outside your door.
